I resently bought a 2001 Lacota 300. I bought it at a price you couldn't refuse.
I would like to here a few veuws about it, and would like to know if it can be made race ready,
and if so what the steps would be to do so.
Thanks a bunch

sure it could be made race ready, look at mine oh and its lakota not lacota lol. The company that did all of the engine work to mine is CWR. greg(the owner) knows and can do just about every thing to make the lakota engine rip. he makes cams, hi comp pistons, over sized valves, heavy duty valve springs which i all have but he also makes diffirent big bore kits for it like a 335 and 360 kit. he also has a stroker crank that makes the 360 kit a 400, also you could have him port the cylinder head. Also works, pep and axis all make front and back shocks for the lakota. greg sells the works shocks used and new. i would deffinatly buy the used ones, they are 150 for the front(pair) with rezzies and 250 for the rear with a rezzie. new the back is 500 and the fronts are 400. Also, dg makes a bunch of skid plates, exhausts, bumbers, grab bars and some other stuff. supertrapp also makes a exhaust but if you call greg he could make make you a head pipe or adapter so almost any exhaust on the market can be made to fit the lakota. a company called prm also sells skid plates and grab bars for thelakota and they are cheap. Beteween both compainies, they have dg, richotct, armidillo, moose and jardine a-arm, swing arm and chasis skid plates. Jardine, armidillo and dg also make grab bars. armidillo, AC, DG, moose and jaredine make bumpers. durablue makes two axles, a +2+2 axle which can be stock length, two inches wide or 4 inches widder than stock on each side. durablue also makes e-brake blockoffs and front and back wheel spacers. a company called tusk makes tie rod kits and wheel spacers also. Allballs makes all sorts of berrings for it. Douglas and itp make aluminum wheels(the bolt pattern is 4/156) any wheels from the polaris preditor will fit(front and back) Dyno jet, and k&n make jet kits. you could get a 36mm mikuni carb, a 37mm edlebrock, and a few other compaines make carbs for it(stock is 32mm) but you only need a carb if you get engine work. Maier makes a hood, rear fenders, and a front fenders and a hood. you could also regear it with diffirent size sprockets. taller in the front and less in the back will make it have a bigger top end and lower in the front, and taller in the back will give you a better bottom end. Sidewinder, moose, sprocket speicalests, sunstar and JD make sprockets.

ill think of some others and some other things they make for it but i think i covered basically every thing. o and mostly all parts from a kawasaki mojave will fit the lakota besides engine parts.

o and dg and moose make nerf bars and dg also makes aluminum heel guards. also order the rocky mountain catalog and the dennis kirk catalog because these is more stuff in the catalogs for the lakota then they show on the web site. wiesco makes hi comp pistons, burgard and cwr make bigger a-arms. DP, baranett, K&G and EBC make clutch kits. and k&n, twin, uni and a few othercompaines make air filters

holeshotz pretty much nailed it on the dot! But yeah you can get stuff like this, greg from CWR makes a sick 370 big bore kit, a new 36mm carb, mojave airfilter kit(fits lakota's to talked to greg)14/41 combo sprockets, white bros exhaust for a mojave with greg's connector pipe, K&N jet kit, moose jet kit, Dyno jet kit, DG nerf bars,DG bumper,Dg full skid plates, new Dougles rims .190 all around on some holeshots,or razr's, shock covers, new plastics, new hood without light (like mine), also remove some of the stuff on the lakota like the mud flaps and stuff it weights a lot, i did.
