Default 750 Brute tire dillema!!

Hey guys... I'm fairly new to the forum (been lurking in the background for a bit)....I have 26 " mudlites right now with dyna cdi (my only 2 mods for now)..I have been pondering changing to 27" lites (my riding partner has them on his p700 with dyna cdi ...no wheelies)..but I would hate to lose my, as I put it "PLAYING POWER" and not be able to wheelie at will (not to mention the added stress on front end components). I had someone lined up to buy my 26"s and had pretty much decided I would try it and all of a sudden wham!...bent a tie rod and subsequently broke the (well documented thanks to you guys) tie rod ends trying to bend the rod back in to shape on the trail! I think this was a message from the "QUAD GOD" not to do the tire swap........

What do you guys think...does anyone have 27" lites and still kept the WAW! (wheelie at will) factor??!!

Will I constantly be fixing front end problems... is there any aftermarket tie rods and ends available?

Thanks alot you guys this forum is very informative and I appreciate any help.

i have 27" mudlites, type 5 c-series rims. if i tighten up the rear shocks she will wheelie pretty easily. i havnt bent or broke a tie rod or end but as a preventitive measure i just ordered Diamond G tie rods and ends. they look very heavy duty and they sell their own ends now that are supposedly better than the 400ex ends. they caust like $145 for a pair of rods with ends. and you can get them powder coated in a couple of different colors as well. got pics in my profile as well if you wanna see 27"s.

I will go you one better...i have 27" Outlaws on my Brute with stock grizz aluminum rims...also have the Highlifter ICM module and the diamond plate Highlifter bumper....mine will stand on end ez as long as your not in real soft sand or dirt...not as easy as she used to be but with your dyna CDI and mudlites you should be able to wheelie still...stock with the Outlaws and the bumper I couldnt wheelie to save me life but with the ICM module its easy...your CDI does even more for you bike so dont worry bout it

I say stick with the 26 " tire. It will do everything a bigger tire can do and more. Remember ever pound of rotating wait is equal to 7 pounds dead weight on the machine. So adding 6 pounds or so per tire adds 120+ pounds to machine and this will affect performance such as the ability to pop wheelies.

Keep your 26er's. I run 25's and have high centered twice in the past year....once on a ledge, once in mud....probably would have with 27's on it too. I do not look for mud and usually go aroound it. Just ain't my thing.

Here in Colorado, the tires have a blue color after cleaning mud off. Same with you?
