P650 Radiator HELP - aftermarket or V force?
#1
Today I got the bad news, the radiator on my P650 was destroyed by a stick (no idea how, full skids, winch, metal guards, etc...) so now it needs "fixed" or replaced. The new one is $478 so that is unreal for a crappy factory part! Does anyone make an aftermarket rad? Do they do reapirs to the core and would it work? It is still under the ext. warranty so I dont want to slap a car rad or something weird in it and really void the ext. warranty. Any ideas? Does the VForce (700) rad fit the P650, I know IMS makes an aftermarket one???
THANKS!!!!!!

I'm not a 100% sure but dont think the v-force rad will fit in the Prairie and I also dont beleave anyones making an aftermarket one for it as well. You could more then likely find a new one online under 400 bucks if you check out a place like http://www.ronayers.com. I would also check out some other kawie forums, ebay etc. to see if you can find someone parting one out. ~coop

Yep - dealer says $478 PLUS install. This is way more than I can swing right now so I need options. I am picking the bike up tomorrow so I will finally get a look. The fan switch went south and that is why it went in- That was under the ext. warranty. Then they called and said they noticed there was also a hole in the radiator and they think a stick went through it. I really want to check this, they did NOT remove the radiator and said it is hard to see the spot where it is damaged. I was riding on a trail with VERY little sticks and crap on it, rather smooth and a little muddy really - very easy riding. Plus there is A arm guards, FULL skid plate, metal mesh radiator guard and a winch that sits partly in front of the radiator - it sure would be hard for a stick to get it. I want to make sure there is not a defect (split) or the fan crashed into it. Anyone know what it might cost to get a radiator made? nothing on Ebay right now but I will keep checking!
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
