Do any of you who have the supertrapp on the lakota, get too much heat off pipe. ever since i put the pipe on, the heat is almost unbearable and my pants burn really bad. Do you guys have a heat shield and which one?

yea i burnt threw a brand new pair of snow pants becuase of that stupid pipe. But i had an extra heat shield off my bear tracker so i welded some nuts on to my pipe and screwed it on it helps a ton with the heat.

well i emailed supertrapp and they said they do not carry a heat shield for the IDS, but recommended I get a heat protector from a local dealer or atv store. They said it's a clothlike shield that you put over the header pipe and that it should keep the heat in and will also increase performance since the heat is kept inside. dont know, but let me know if any of you guys do something about it that will work

yeah that should work...they use it on race car exhaust and it keeps them up to 50-75 degrees cooler
