What symptoms were they having when they decided they needed new cams. My engine is making a lot of noise but it seems to be comming from the front cylinder. Sounds like a chain noise. I'm wondering if I have the same problems as your friends.

My Brute was making some noises too. I just put my HMF slip on - on. Its still in peices right now because I'm re-jetting it for this pipe. I've noticed with the plastics off a few loose/ missing bolts. One on the front cylinder's pipes heat sheild. Also, the bolts holding the pipes on to the cylinders were coming loose.

Also, anyone with a dalton clutch kit, can you reply and try help me out here. I've installed my clutch kit with the new weights and spring. The quad engages like a freakin sled now. But I've notice now, that the clutch seems to be "grinding". To me thats what it sounds like. Kinda makes a "chunka chunka chunka" noise and really shakes the clutch housing area. I know that can't be good. I've taking it apart again and everything seems to be in order. Any reply's would be appreciated.

Check over all your heatshield bolts on the exhaust. alot of people have been finding them loose. i check mine every 50 hours.
i had the chain sounding noise and we were 15 miles from the truck i thought something blew, it sounded like it was coming from the front cylinder, but finally found the heat shield had lost a bolt..it scared the crap out of me.

i am glad i found this web site. my 2005 brute 750 so far has had missing bolts on the heat shield/ had the thermostat housing O ring go bad/ now i am hearing some noise from the front cyl. check your body plastic on the rt side by the belt drive. look where the rubber boot connects the belt housing to the air box and make sure the plastic isnt rubbing it and if it is just trim the plastic with a blade/ also look at you rad hose on the lt side and make sure the shroud isnt rubbing that also the very bottom corner could be. any thing else going on with these machines?
