This may sound like a dumb question but..... I just bought a Tecate 4 from a guy and I can't for the life of me figure out how to take the seat off to get to the air box and air cleaner. I have lain under it an can't find any release latch of any kind there or around the seat itself. Does the seat and the back fender come off as a single unit like a 250x does? I'm stumped. Any info would be appreciated...Thx...Dean

 

I had a three wheeler , the latch was on the side of the seat but the air box was not under it. u could get to the ait box from the side panel.

 

Nope, that wasn't it. Still unable to locate or get it off. Any other suggestions? There must be somebody out there with a Tecate 4. It may just be missing or broken off and then I guess I will have to figure out how to get under the seat to make it let go. Any help would be appreciated. Thx...Dean

 

You will have to unbolt it 4 in the back and two were your knees are the covers on the side. It sucks I know but once you get use to doing it it will still suck.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

does your tecate have a new black frount bumper and a secend shut off valve and no key.

I think I owned it. If it is the one I traded it about 5 months ago.
