Default 27" or 26" big foot kit 03 650?

Need some advice....Need to get better skins for my 03 Prairie. I went to the dealer and they stated that 27's would rub on the fuel tank so they wanted to sell me 26" itp type 5 with mudlites for 700+. I was like WHAT!!! (in my head ofcoures) so I just said really. Anyways, just called Lester ATV for the 26's ITP type 4 with the 589's and they gave me a price of 613.50 shipped with lugs/caps which I might jump on in a few days. Just need to know beside the rubbing issue (if true) what the differance is with 27's. If I only gain 1/2in with the 27's in height i'll just stay with the 26's....................................thanks for any reply/help

You will only gain a 1/2" in clearance plus you will pick up the added weight of the 27" tires... I have the ITP C-series 5 rims with 26" mudlites and LOVE them.. They go through mud good but are an all around good trail tire as well... They work for everything I do and plus they look sweet too... I would for sure save the money and go with the 26"... The 589's are a little rougher riding than the mudlites on the trails but do better in the mud.. If you are not jumping of in every single mud hole you see then I would get the big foot kit with 26" mudlites.. Much smoother ride...

I too am in the same situation and I think I'm going with the 27" 589's. I want all the GC I can get without going overboard with a lift, Gorillas, etc. I'm also gettting the Dyna CDI to more than make up for any lost power on take off. I love the mud and I know I will be mad in the future because I "settled" for the smaller tire.

The voices in my head always tell me to go big or go home.

I have 27" Dirt Devels which are very wide, No where is it even close to rubbing, but I do have a 1.5" lift, which really helps vereywhere including looks. It really takes away that low rider look that the prairies have stock.
