Stock-vs-Stock they are pretty equal. You just have to remember the Mojave is much more advanced with liquid cooling, DOHC, 4 valve cylinder head. With that being said, Mod for Mod the Mojave will get better results in my opinion.

Stock for stock the Mojave will run and hide from the 250x. Modded even more. THe Mojave also has a manual clutch whereas the 250x is auto.

the mojave is a very good machine miy friend has one and it has a lot of miles on it. the 250x is the same thing as a 300ex. The mojave was faster than my 300ex and definatley had more reving ability to it (runs good rpm's) the only thing i didnt like was its kind of hard to whelie if u dont stand on the grab bar and its a little small for people my height and i am only 5'10, but its a fun machine if i were to pick either one i'd probably get the mojave even though it is a little bit small for me because of the nice power it makes, the shocks are also very nice for jumping but a little stiff for slower trail riding, but its hard to have both because my 300ex was smoth going slow but it didnt like to land any jumps

Oops- that's exactly right, my apologies Mr.1988fast250x I had a small lapse there. Thought the 250ex was what was being asked about. Yes- they are very very comparable, I was eyeballing one myself before my Mojave acquisition. About the only thing the Mojave has over the 'X' is water cooling. My friend has a 2002 Honda 250 ex and i have a 1987 Kawasaki Mojave. They both are stock. We have raced before and i won. we only had one race. But from my experience the Kawasaki Mojave would win. But it all depends on the size of the rider.

I've had both and the 250X handles better and has better ergos. There are a ton more mods available for the Honda and powerwise it is very similar. The powerbands of the two quads are different in that the 250X has a great low end and decent mid range but goes flat. The Mojave is weak on the bottom, has a good but narrow midrange and will go flat on top but at a much higher RPM than the Honda.

I believe a pumper style carb would really bring the Mojave to life but I have not tried that. All in all the quads are pretty simlar and I prefer the Mojave.

Oh yes, a carb with an accelerator pump makes worlds difference. Mine cleaned up the dead spot off idle. It lets you blip the throttle over whoops, and gets you right up to speed for the double 55' after the whoop section- the single best mod one can do. As far as the .380 cams, they're in the mail.........
