My buddy complains how he gets a lot of heat off the pipes. Almost to the point of melting the plastic and burning a leg. Is this normal or what can be done to help (more heat shields?).

Most BF750 owners use watter wetter or Evans coolant and either header heat tape wrap the header or get the header ceramic coated. Ensure its not running lean. Running lean will also produce more heat.
