Default slow bf750?

i have a brute force 750 with 250 miles on it. i keep hearing about 72mph top speeds. i tried top speed with mine today and was losing power at 55mph. i have 26" mud lites but i cant believe that they slow me down that much. i also lost a drag race against my friends wife on a prairie 700. i am no atv expert and just wondering do i have the slowest brute made. do i need to take it back to the dealer while it is still under warranty, or should i just order the dynatek or moose cdi???? thanks for any help.

check the drive belt deflection and if it is worn out. if there is to much drive belt deflection. the belt will not ride up in the clutches high enough, there for causing the atv not to shift into high gear. the modul will not give you more top end.

i am not aware of a carb update. should the dealer know and should it be covered under warranty.

Throw all of your stock parts back on and take it to the dealer. This is something that should be covered whether its deflection or whatever else. The needle isnt going to chop 15 mph off your top end but it will make your bike spit and sputter in midrange.

what did you do to upgrade your carburetor. i think mine is jetted wrong. i had it out this weekend at 10,000 feet and it was lugging bad. the dealer did not rejet. i live at about 6000 feet and ride up to about 12000 the highest. i am told that rejetting is pretty easy and should only cost about 20.00 in parts.
