Im getting ready to do my initial oil change, curious what oil/filter some of you are using........and can I get an aftermarket oil/ filter thru an auto supplier rather then gettin hosed by the not so close to me kawasaki dealer?

 

I get my filter from the Kawasaki dealer. I use Valvoline 20W-50 motorcycle oil. It has all the correct ratings as per the owner's manual and the viscosity is correct for the area in which I ride. I was using Kawasaki 10W-40, but found the engine seemed to run hotter with that oil as compared to the 20W-50. That could just be a perception....since I do not have a temperature guage on the engine.
