The oil is 0w-40 which covers all ranges 5w 10w. The amsoil meets and exceeds the standards. Kawasaki puts synthetic in from the factory. It does not have a wet cluch system, but it has a wet brake system in the rear. Amsoil makes a oil for the wet brake system. It is synthetic hydraulic fluid.

I know, I have a KFX400 and KFX700, I was speaking more about bikes that do, like the 400, I just wondered that. Good info about the car oil with friction reducers though.

Hey 3QUADS,
You sound like a Amsoil dealer. Not that there anything wrong with it. Will 0w40 be ok in the summer? I've been using the recomended 10w40. Does that matter.

i use Mobil 1 MX4T 10W-40 (full synthetic 4 stroke motorcycle oil) in the engine on my Brute, Mobil 1 V-Twin 20-50 (also full synthetic) in the front diff and Kawi rear diff lube (424) in the rear diff. also keep in mind, some oil filters are made to perform best with synthetics. the K&N (kn-204 for the Brute) is one that i have been using, but the Mobil 110 (costs more) is a longer filter (more capacity and more filter surface area) could me my next filter. and no, i'm not a Mobil dealer. just did my research on synthetics when i switched from Fossil oil to synthetic in my Harley. the Mobil 1 is available at the local wally world, which is a big help too. can get it anytime.

of course you gotta say that. i've seen analasys results from every major synthetic oil (independant lab) that places Mobil 1 at the top or near the top of every test. this test was very comprehensive and done by a company without any vested intrest in any one oil, simply trying to find the best oil.
any premium synthetic within the specs in the owners manual will be great, though, so we are kinda splitting hairs. (except i do not see 0w anywhere in the owner's manual)
i'm not gonna argue with a dealer, but i'm running Mobil 1 MX4T in mine and am very satisfied. if anybody can show me any proof (other than the Amsoil site) that anything else is better, i will be happy to listen, but i have been researching this topic for years and haven't seen it yet.

Hey 3QUADS,
The reason I asked you if you where a Amsoil dealer is when you said Amsoil meets and exceeds the standards, I knew you where a dealer. The reason is, my brother-in-law is a Amsoil dealer too, and I've heard the same thing come out his mouth. I think Amsoil is a very good product. I would buy Amsoil over Mobile 1 any day. If it's good enough for the US military, then it's good enough for me. At least I know the money would stay in the USA then to a country that hates Americans and would like to kill us. I was thinking about becoming a Amsoil dealer too just to supply my needs and anyone else I know who need's some. Who know's, With all the BS oil price's now day's, it might be a good idea to get into synthetic motor oil. BTW I wouldn't give that scab store Walmart one red cent. Store's like Walmart are killing this country. As we all know, a monopoly isn't a good thing for anyone exept for the monopolist.

first, Exxon Mobil is based in Irving, Texas. i really don't think Texas hates America and wants to kill us.

second, Wal-mart has issues, but it is an example of free enterprise at work. that's how it is in a free country.
