Linedog, sounds to me like you need to checkout the 06 bf650 with irs. I say the 650 with irs for the following reasons. 1. The suspension has been upgraded from the 750bf. They are no longer going for just good ground clearance, the geometry has been redesigned to handle and ride good as well. Something the 750 had holding it back from winning all the shootouts. 2. You talk about reliability the 633cc vtwin and the cvt transmission in the 650 have been around for years. With proper matenaince the motor and transmission are as reliable as they come, period. 3. Power, The 650 has enough juice to run with most big bore atv's around. Also if it's not enough you could add a little money with what you saved from buying the 750 and turn your 650 into an 800 just like they said in one of the latest atv mags. If thats to radical for you there are PLENTY of bolt on hop ups for it. 4. 4x4 AS you probably know from owning the Polaris, at times 4 wheel drive is a must. Now I know some "sport" atv owner is gonna say "I can go anywhere you can." and that may be partially true but can you do it saftely? For those of us who like to go out by ourselves hunting, riding, or whatever we want to have fun but we also want to come back home. 5 Low range You never know when you'll need to pull a trailer or a buddies atv on a trailer back home from the days ride. The 750 as low obviously but the kfx dosen't. All of this is just my opinion but I think you would be making a mistake if you didn't check it out. Make sure and check out all the atv's that fit where and how you like to ride, I can tell you from past experience if you buy the wrong one for what your gonna do with it you'll regret it. I used to own a 400 arctic cat and traded it in on my prairie and have not regretted it once.

My 2 cents:

If you could only get one....and you travel far out of camp.....

My group has several KFX700s and Praries and a BF750...... All the machines go everywhere. fast, slow, rock crawling, exploring... All do it well....

But my personal preference is....I love having Low Range, I love having 4WD Low, I love having front locking diff, because all that stuff means you can tow or pull yourself out of anything..... I love having racks to carry stuff on, like extra gas, coolers, bags of cloths, repair stuff..... I love having a personal billy goat of a little "jeep"......

Now one of my buddies has a PRM "rack" on the back of his KFX, but he can really only carry about 3 gallons of gas and a jacket...... ALso of note the KFX has less ground clearance, has way less skid plate protection.

I love the KFX, I love the lightness of it, the wheelies it will do, it is a great machine, but if I could only have one, I would go with the 4WD...

Both will be very reliable, and we have not seen any problem with the cooling system on any of our machines, especially after watter wetter and a dyna CDI both of which allow these machines to run cooler.

One thing about going slow is it's harder on the belt than going fast, and the KFX doen't have low range, so going slow is going to be harder on belt life....than on the 4WD machine.....

My only reservation about the BF750 is the thing is so damn tall......

I love my KFX but find myself sometimes wanting a 4X4 so i can plow and play in the mud But being as I can only afford one I will stick with the KFX 700 for now, I live in Ohio and trail ride and except for the deep holes & ruts the 4X4's leave i can go anywhere anyone else in my group does, As far as changing the plugs it takes about 10 minutes tops to do both, The front plug is cake and the back plug you remove the seat & battery and use the plug socket & wrench from your tool kit, Hell I can jet my bike on the trail if needed in about 10 minutes with out removing anything

Oh yeah, one more thing. When you get to the part of the trail that has mud.......that KFX is gonna leave you wet and cold, but those big ugly fenders on the 4x4 is gonna leave you thinking, your invinceable. Man I love those fenders.

Thanks for all your thoughts on my post. I tossed the quarter and ended up with the BF 750. I was very impressed with both machines so I don't think I'll have any regrets in the choice. I wont be able to pick it up til tomorrow, the thing was just removed from the crate and still needed a little assembly. It will come home tomorrow and with a little luck will go into service by friday. Thanks again for all the input to my post.
