Default P650 fuel problem.

Got snow today and went to plow the driveway. The quad is having a problem idiling. I turn the idle screw and it doesn't maintain the idle. It revs up like the gas valve is off and stalls. It won't start unless I crank the starter at full throtle. It will srart again and run fine then it happens again. I don't know where to begin. Any ideas?

Might be the classic stuck choke which plagued the 02 p650. If your rear plug is fouled, almost a guarantee that's what it is. Idle screw on mine was useless as well... had to cut 1/3 off the spring to make it work.

scroll down to choke.

Thanks Chet, I just changed the spark plugs an they were both black. What do I have to take apart to do this?

Follow the choke cable to the carburetor. Make sure they are routed in a way that the choke operates freely without any sticking or binding. Pay special attention at the bend where one cable becomes 2 cables. To be sure, disassemble the choke plunger parts and watch little plungers moving freely as you open and close the choke.
