Dont really know what to expect from the new VDI.

Well I am on the list for the new VDI, and I have to say I am at a loss with what to expect. I have had my brute for a couple of months and I already think that the beast has a ton of power. Back before I purchased my brute, I placed myself on the VDI pre-order list because I heard nothing but good things about it. I am curious to see just how much more power it will give me. I would love it if it would take the occasional first 1/8 worth of throttle "burble" out of the equation, because it plays havoc on wheelies. Hard for me to figure out what to expect, but a good hard kick in the pants is what I am hoping for this Christmas. First thing that I am going to do is line up with my brother (identical Brute all stock) and tell him that I want to run them just for fun. I hope that I get a kodak moment off of his face when I pull him off the line. Merry Christmas fellas

bfb750.....talk to Lyle, probably the reason your name was removed from the pre-order list was that they don't have the BF750 cdi ready yet, still working on it. I think the list(?) you're thinking of is for the Prairies only, which are supposed to ship tomorrow. Have you been on nyroc's forum to see latest info on the 35 page thread?
Probably your name is on another list (for the 750's), but you can easily pm Lyle and find out. He's very easy to work with.

hollowcd.....they don't have the 750i cdi's designed yet, but from what I hear, it shouldn't be too much longer cause the 750 is the next one in line and they did most of the work for it when designing for the Prairies.
The VDI igniter will come with two maps, one oem (28*) and one for 87 octane (34*), unless you ask for 87 and 91 (37*) octane maps, which is what I did. Lyle says he will change maps free for pre-order guys. I have no use for an oem map. Mine will come with the 87 and 91 octane maps with safety features override.
There will be a programmer with it if you pay extra, but I didn't want it or need it. Can always get one later if needed for an EFI quad in the future(?).
There is a switch between the 2 timing maps, if you have the oem and 87 maps, maybe you could run your brother oem a couple of times, then switch on the performance map, leave him scratching his head. All of this info and a lot more is on a 35 page thread on nyroc's forum. VDI says their igniter is stronger than Dyna's in mid range, will also start better, and (I hope so) will not fail as much as Dyna's.

After reading alot of the 35 page forum, I think it will be worth the extra money. I am interested to see what people think of them, and how much of a difference they make.
