Default Help to buy a new 4x4 !!!

Hello!

Im a guy from norway that is going to buy a new ATV.
I have ben lookink at the Brute Force 750 and the Grizzly 660... The Yamaha has a 5 year warenty and there is 2 years on the Kawasaki.
Whitch one is the better ATV if its possible to compere them.
It looks like in this forum that there is many that have invested in a BF and turn out unhappy?

Default Help to buy a new 4x4 !!!

Not this guy, I am happy with my machine. I purchased my Brute a couple of months ago, and been lovin it ever since. I purchased mine for 6,242 out the door, so the price was hard to beat for what you get with it. The power is awesome. The main complaints about this machine are weak tie-rods, which on the 05 models is being recalled, and on the 06 models should already be fixed, getting steam in the intake, if you do a search there are some guys in here that have experimented with some fixes for it, and the tippiness feeling, which can be greatly reduced with some different tires, which when you see the set of factory tires on most big bores, youll be heading that direction anyways. As for the grizzly I cannot speak for it. I have heard many good things about the machine. For me, I was looking for the leading edge of power and performance at a good price, and thats why I own a Brute. You can extend the warranty on the Brute for 4 years for around $400 on ebay, just do a search for a kawasaki extended warranty, everybody sells them. Also, do a search on this forum for Grizz vs Brute Force, I am sure that you will find some opinions on both machines. Good luck!!

I owned a 2002 Grizzly 660 for about 2 months, biggest hunk of junk ever! Bought it new, never beat it, it would get so hot that it would boil the gas in the gas tank and then it would vapor lock and quit running. I now have the BF750, way way way more powerful, quicker and faster. they give you 2 and 5 year warranties???? WOW! we get a measly 6 months on any ATV here in the states.

By the way "2005BF750"

There is a law in our contry that say that there has to be a 2 year warenty and 3 years to complain !
I think it has something to do whit European Standards...
Yamaha gives ot a 5 year warenty to draw the custemers. But if the Grizz sucks then it doesent help much..
I think that you guys have to use the agreement they use in Japan.. (6 Months)
Thanks for the help!

delray.....I bought an '05 Prairie 700 early last year, and bought extra warranty up to 5 years. By the way, we don't have to do anything regarding gov't saying what the warranty will be. It's a free market, give better terms, get more customers. Bombardier gives a 3 year warranty, but right now they won't extend it for money. They did last November, though.

I have only ridden a BF750 on the trails, not owned one, and it handled well, had good power. I preferred my straight rear axle Kawasaki P700 to the BF though, until I rode the Bombardier Outlander.

Good luck on your search.

I have both a 2004 prairie and a 2006 griz. They are both great machines. Side by side the grizz accelerates faster, the p700 has a nicer sound and the engine although not as fast as the grizz has more torque, if I had to choose it would be hard but the grizz has a far superior ride and looks way cooler so I think it would be the grizz.

Delay,
The Yami is a single and the mighty Kawi is a V-twin. I didn't have to think too long before I bought my Kawi. As for the warranty period, if there are some factory defects, I would think most problems would show up within 2 years. Other than that, proper riding attitude and strict maintenance will determine the life of your ATV.

Heja Norge!
As your "nabor" I can inform that I received my Bforce 750 in June. I actually bought a street legal version, I can tell you I did not regret that decision. I am very happy with it. Fortunately Kawasaki recalls a part of the Bforces to change tierod ends and I have sent all the paper to Kawasaki so we will see what is going to happen. Remember
there is no machine which is perfect but if you take care of it you will have a lot of fun with it. I would buy it again.
Lycka till med köpet.

Check Ebay to get a round about price on tires and rims. My dad has 26" ITP Mud Lites with Series 5 rims his Twin Peaks. I have pictures of it in my pictures page. I would highly reccomend these. The Mud Lites have been a great tires, and adding the rims to it makes it look sweet. Best of luck with whichever one you decide to purchase.
