Default general jetting question

I have a P700.

How difficult is it to re-jet. I am new at this. I am going to get a new exhaust and was told by the dealer that I will have to rejet.

Is it difficult?
I am some what mechanically inclined but have never torn my bike down.

Do you recomend that I have the dealer do it?

How much does a dealer charge to do this?

Are there any sites out there that will give me a picture by picture mechanical view of how to pursue this?

The carbs look right at you from the right side of your quad.
Be very careful with the screws on the fuel bowls, they are glued in.
Almost need impact driver to get them loose.
Then the jets are right there.

Go to Nyroc's web page at http://atv.dnsalias.com/techtip.cgi

And look up your quad.

good luck.........handycap

Good advice and if all else fails try and call Dyno Jet as they were very helpful to me.

I rejetted my Kawi by myself and the MOST difficult thing was loosening those small 4 screws off the float bowl to access the jets. You need to use the perfect fit phillips screw driver if you want to avoid stripping. After changing the jets, make sure you read your plugs (after some hard runs) to confirm you picked the right size jets.

Default general jetting question

I looked into the Nyroc's website and they had a procedure but I would like a little more.

Does anyone know of a maintance manual that gives a step by step process that is specific to the P700?

If so where can I get one? and how much do they run?

Thanks for your thoughts

Avoid DynoJet if you can as they change the whole numbering scheme for the jets, so you have to start from scratch. If you just bump up the back jet one size and put the back in the front you will be at a pretty good place to start.. My stock jetting was 142R 138F now I am 145R 142F. Very important to do a plug check at your desired altitude to be certain, and temp is a factor in jetting, the colder it is the richer your jetting has to be. What that translates to is if your plugs look great at 0' - 1000' and 32 degrees, you will be rich at warmer temp or higher altitude.
