I was reading in the Honda forums about the Honda Rancher having problems besides the recall.Has anyone had a problem with their kawasaki and dealt with kawasaki? I was wondering because I might buy A kawasaki and wondered if something went wrong after the warranty that was a factory problem do they stand behind their product.

I had to call Kawasaki because a dealer cracked my engine case during an oil change. After calling the company the dealership suddenly saw things my way and replaced the case free of charge. Hope this little story helps... I wouldn't worry about any Kawasaki problems just find a good dealership.

It is deffinately a dealership and not product issue. Some dealers only want to see you once, thats when your handing them the money. Others want to see you as a loyal customer.
The dealer has a lot of influence determining if problem is covered under warranty or not.

I agree with DaveC. I called my dealer a couple weeks ago about the belt and steering recall on my Prairie 400 4x4, and he didn't know what I was talking about. He said he would have to call me back

My dealer was a bunch of idiots, they were a$$ holes after i forked over the 6000$ to them, but a few calls to kawie fixed that. now they no longer have the privilege of selling kawasaki's

It pays to complain!

No manufacture is going to do repairs at there exspence once the warranty is up. Unless it is just passed the date. They do offer an extended warranty though, up to 3 years.

Well, OK, it might be a "dealer problem" but I live in a major metropolitan area with more than Kawasaki dealers at my disposal and every one of them are barely helpful at best. Several are down right totally worthless.
From my experience, the average dealer absolutely does not stand behind there machines.
I even bought the 3 year extended waranty (big mistake) and I've had to fight tooth and nail just to get the very few problems I've had fixed.
I love my Prairie though.

Dealerships can be wonderful places or just another pain in the a$$ ! The dealership that tried to put the screws to me will never see me again. Even if they offer a deal like buy one get one free. We should start making a list of bad dealerships so other people won't have the same trouble we have had.

Be careful TG1. this dealer reads post and tries to help atv riders. Kawasaki as a company will help customers the best they can.Your dealer will help or hurt you. realize owner over expectation usally is more than any brand atv is capiable of I have seen a few instances where kawasaki has warrantied machines that where 3-4 years out of warranty, but only pay for certin parts,HOWEVER KAWA stated IF YOU (the dealer) feel that this is a special case than you(the dealer)eat the labor. customer pays nothing. Stand in our corner go to the service dept ask the Head mechanic to take you and show machines that are there for warranty . Chances are it is 3 months old and looks 5 years. If you get a fair response in attitude go up front and buy.kawa stands behind me.I stand up for my customers,I make very few calls to kawa for warranty.Knowledge is the key.Dont assumme you already know.
