spitting and sputtering

I also have an issue and this has been going on from the time i got by bf750. when going through some kinda high water and mud it seems to spitt and sputter almost to the point of going dead. I have to keep a steady gas to it for it even to come out what could be the cause and how do i fix thanks

You must play in water a lot. The spitting and sputtering you are describing is that water is getting into your carbs and inside the engine. Not good at all . If you must ride in water, you have to install custome snorkel kit using pvc pipes for the air intake. Or at least you must install some kind of anti-splashing guards inside the front fender. Watch out for any knocking noise coming from the bottom of your engine...

What exactly do i need to snorkel for this issue the air box or the carb and where can i get a kit for this if they have one I looked at bayou snorkles but it is only for the air box and the transmission do they alos have one for the carb?? Any body help

I guess you really want to play in water.
I've seen some BF750 guys with custom made (home-brewed) snorkel kits requiring a few trips to Home Depot. But there could be some aftermarket companies who make those. You need to some internet research of your own if you want to buy off-the-shelf kits.
There shoud be 3 pipes. 1). Air-box inlet, 2). CVT-Cooling Air inlet, 3). CVT-exhaust outlet. Also, there is a carb-vent bottle you need to either relocate or modify if you are planning on submerging your BF deeper than the seat level.
When you say people rejet after installing snorkel kit is probably due to running too lean due to COLDER-air-intake. They are bumping up one size fatter main jet and/or raising the needle jet one notch in the carbs.
I would not go through all this hassle if I were you.
If it hurts, I just don't do it.

From time to time also I had the spuddering happening, through fairly shallow water, this was during cold weather, and from what I could gather that alot of steam from the radiator would cause this also.

Yes, steam is definately a problem with the Brute Force. If you will look under your front left fender you will see the header pipe from the front cylinder and directly above it is the air intake. When you get into water or snow deep enough to hit the front header, steam will rise and get drawn right into the air box. Anytime you ingest steam you will get a sputter. Water splashed onto the airbox doesn't have much of a chance to actually making it into the engine because of the way the airbox is designed. It may get into the airbox, but will rarely make it through the filter. Steam is drawn in through the filter by the two huge cylinders trying to breathe.
There are many modifications you can do to get rid of this problem, snorkeling is the most common. If you don't want to cut any holes kisssofdeath has a great simple snorkel for the Brute on his website and it works to keep the steam from rising into the airbox.
