the '06 650i has the buss connector mod already done. mine did anyway. i stripped the rear plastic and the tape from the connector and found that the ground wires (black with yellow stripe) were not connected in the buss connector. the usual fix is to remove the ground wires from the buss and solder them seperately, but this is already done. this is a plus.

the '06 750 still has the the ground wires included and need fixed.

the only prob ive had is a few antifreeze leaks from loose hose clamps. thats it so far. its a great machine, get it. if you do alot of trail riding and slidin around, id go with the solid axle. if your a putter, get the irs.

Monty, What buss connector problem are you talking about? This is the first I have heard of it.

on the kawi v-twins there is an electrical connector in the wiring harness with some hot wires, some swithced hot wires (i think) and some ground wires. when wet, the electrical current always present corrodes the connections very fast and causes all kinds of wierd stuff, like the fan won't come on and the atv overheats, or the engine won't start in 4x4, but will start in 2x4 and so on. the fix varies to packing the connector with dielectric grease to cutting the connector out and soldering the wires together (by color code), and taping them up good. not a difficult fix, but something that needs done. i had to take the rear plastic off to get to mine, but found that it had the connector, but no ground wires going to it. this will eliminate the constant electrical current in the connector. (Nyrock's tech tips say to just cut the ground wires from the connector ans solder them seperately, and leave the rest).

so the 650i is the only big Kawi that doesn't need this mod as far as i know. i'm sure the next model year will have this mod in most or all of the Kawi v-twins. i don't know why they diddn't do the 750 also, as i think the wiring harness is identical in all other respects.

do a search for "buss connector" on pretty much any atv site with a Kawi section and there should be plenty of hits.
