Is the Prarie 360 enough to plow?
I am thinking of buying my first ATV. Am wondering if those of you that have them, or similar machines, think that they are strong enough to take a lot of snow plowing? I am 5'10" & 240 lbs. Also would be using it for hunting and trail riding. I'm brand new to this and speed riding is of no concern to me at this point.
Thanks

I'm the same size as you and love the 360. Haven't plowed much snow but have used the Swisher plow and bucet a lot on the farm. Backfilling behind a trencer while putting in a bunch of waterline put the plow to the test not to mention the quad. Plenty of power for the work we use it for.
Not a lot of trail time but enough to know that at the slower speeds I prefer the machine is very reliable and stable. Works well for spot spraying and pulling the Trailcutter mower for knocking down heavy weeds and moderate brush.
If you aren't into jumping and racing around the 360 should work well for you. From what I read you need to check out what dealership you select as much or more than the quad you buy. I got luck and happened to select a good one but if I were to change I would sure want to talk to a number of their customers prior to buying.

The 360 sounds like a great atv for you. Its not a speed demon but has great low end grunt for a 360. As long as you keep it in LOW gear for plowing, going slow(under 15 or so), climbing, pulling, mudding etc, youll have no problem from the belt going bad. The 360 will be a fine choice. IF you ever have any questions, just ask.

Thanks for all the replies guys. That is why I love these forums.
What kind of price should I expect for a new machine with the plow? I kind of would like the camo, but we will see. Like I have mentioned prior, I'm just starting my looking and will see where it ends.

i agree with these guys. you'll have no problem plowing with the 360. ask your dealer when you are looking at atvs and see if you can get a package deal with winch. when i bought my brute the dealer offered me a $69 snow plow or a $69 warn winch. i already had a plow on my little Suzuki but i grabbed the winch. you may get the same deal, i dunno. maybe it was only on the brute too, but ask.

But if you doing you homework on this machine, be sure to ask about freight. prep, assembly and final inspection fees. Most dealers will hit you for dbl freight prep and assembly. So be sure to get OTD price. Out the door! Or say "I am bringing a check to you how much would I have to write it out for to put it in my truck".
