Big Bore Shoot Out
#1
As a member and employee of the New York State ATV Drag Racing Association, I would like to invite all Kawasaki riders here on the Connection, to a big bore Kawasaki shoot out. If there are enough people with big bore kits, that want to participate, we will finally find out who can get the power to the ground! This will include Utility's, VForce's, and KFX 400s.
I have talked to a lot of people, and I am ready to set up some special classes at one of our races in Lawton, PA. It looks like the event will be August 19-20, 2006. I made an offer to Ray at Fundy Power Sports, and Mickey at Four Stroke Tech, to attend and help sponsor the event. Ray accepted and offered to put up some of the prize money. Mickey declined my offer, but did say he may come to our event, but as far as helping with the money he said, "I don't see that it does any good for FST". I respect both of these engine builders, and don't want any spin put on what either of them choose to do. This is for "US", the consumers of these products. Their participation is greatly appreciated, but we should not depend on it. If one of them gets bragging rights, so be it, but our "quest for the best" will be what we can ultimately do with these products. Anyone can buy a fast machine, but can "YOU" make it go faster, and get the power to the ground. If there are any other engine builders that would like to participate, they are certainly welcome also.
With that said, I would like to call upon everyone that offered to sponsor an event like this, to step up with whatever you can to make this event as fun and profitable as possible for the participants. If we get enough support for this event, it will be worth the trip for those of you that are not close to PA. There is free camping, concessions, and venders on the grounds. This is a 300ft dedicated ATV drag strip. The surface is hard packed dirt with some clay, complete with a built in sprinkler system to control dust, and well maintained. We use a Porta Tree computerized light and timing system. There are lights for night running also. Class set up is still being decided, and your constructive input is welcome.
Mike, (Bombman) from DicksATV.COM has offered $250 for this event, plus some products for our kids classes.
More prize money will be coming.
Please feel free to email me with any questions, or ideas for a successful event. This could become an annual event depending on the turn out. I will also be contacting some media sources to find out if we can get some coverage. Anyone with connections in that arena, please advise me of the possibilities.
Thanks for your time, Mark

If I were closer I would definitely be there. That sounds like a great event. I have always been very courious as to who was the true top kawi engine builder in the country. Whatever you do and who ever wins please make sure and post the results on the forums.
