Independent Suspension Vs. Straight Axel?
#1
Does the $600-700 difference justify going with independent suspension on the Brute Force 650/750? I'll be doing some trail riding and plowing with the 650.

For the last 2 weekends I had a 750 IRS BF and a 650 IRS BF to try out. First I must say I love the power of both of them, I find the power in the mid range better than my 700. I Also found that the irs was smoother on most trails, I did not care for the IRS on the railway thou. If I had to pick one it would still be my 700 it's more to what you feel is right for you. I like the sportieness of the 700 and the center of gravity is lower. I did not have any issues with tippyness but I also did not go around corners the way I would on my 700. I also found that even the 750 BF was tameable, but you could unleash it at any point. LOL I also found the irs seamed to lock the tires to the ground better, less wheel spin and more traction. I also liked how open the front of the irs is, however cleaning the back wheels is a pain. I had a hard time watching the dash lights on the 750 but I bet with more time on the 750 that would go away. I did not find the 750 hard to steer. I put the 750 on quite a slope and I felt comfortable on it, it didn't feel like it was ready to roll over. I also liked the pockets in the finders. I also found that the BF keep your feet cleaner than my 700, better fenders up front. I did not bottom out or hit the bottom of the machine so the ground clearance is great. My 700 is alot lower. I also found the 650 BF IRS amazing on fuel. I would consider a irs as my second bike, don't get me wrong I love IRS but I'm a die hard single axle atver and for me to consider a IRS I think is good on Kawis side for doing a good job. I found the seat very comefie. The 750 I found had quite a bit more grunt to it over the 650 but the 650 doens't lack power at all. The lights are good on them. The floorboards have good grip on them better than the 700. I also found the 650 a little stiffer on the springs. for a 700 difference I would probably go with the 750 if you want a little more power, other than that save the 700 and put better tires or something on the 650. both machines are very capable of plowing. The straight axle 650 BF doesn't have the same performance that the 650 IRS has.

i like the irs also but its not near as good in the bush and going up and down hill as the 700 prairie. go for the 700p youll love it. unless comfort is more important then sportyness.
