Default overheating 650

brand new 650i that overheats. first ride about 35 miles and light keeps coming on. get her home and clean it out and have to add a little coolant, figured air bubble. next ride same thing only coolant level doesn't drop any more. both rides were in a little mud. radiator was partially dirty and overheat happened well after mud run while riding on trails at 15-20 mph. engine is covered with mud. any help appreciated.

Well the bikes run pretty warm when they ar getting broke in. Having everything covered iin mud would probably causei it to over heat, but you could alwyas take it to the dealer and let them check it out. LOL!

How hot was it outside when you were riding?

first day was 78 and second day was 57. buddy has 650 A/C (same motor) and his winch blocks off half of his radiator and he has no probs. i wasnt doing anything that this wheeler shouldnt be able to do without overheating. not running it hard at all

This will sound crazy but be very sure the back side of the radiator is totally clean. We had a similare problem with an 04 brand new prarie over heating. The anti freeze was comming out of the over flow based on the fact that the radiator looked clean from the front but was plugged from the rear. The newer p650 and p700 are a challenge to clean well.
