Default New to the V-Force, need some answers

Looking at purchasing a Kawasaki V-Force and have some questions. I've owned several sport machines from big bore 250R's, Raptor 700, LT-R450 ( current ride ), YFZ450, big bore Z's, etc. I rode a piped V-Force at the dunes for a short time and it handled great and had decent overall power. It kind of sparked my interest so I'm thinking of purchasing one as a play machine. Didn't get as much seat time as I would have liked. Just don't know much about them. The one I'm looking at is a used '04 and has several upgrades. It has a Mickey Dunlap 800cc. motor, ported heads, 11.1 pistons, cams, CDI & aftermarket rectifier, full Yoshi pipes, different clutch springs, etc. What would be a fair price for this machine considering the upgrades? It's in excellent shape.

What's the stock compression?
Any frame issues from jumping?
Difficult to make jetting changes?
How's the suspension handle whoops and jumping?

Thanks for all your help

I traded my V for Brute 750 last winter but before that I had a LTZ 400 i sold & bought a V, They are a very fun bike with decent power stock and very easy to handle, For pure sport riding I preffered my Z because of the light wieght & the ease of throwing the bike around, With the V You arnt going to do much throwing The only draw back to me was constantly messing with the carbs when I added a pipe but after it was tuned in I was very happy, The only thing I dis-liked was the market for it, Selling it or trying to trade it in was no fun the market on used V's isnt strong at all in my opinion, i stripped mine back to stock and traded it in after trying for awhile to sell it, i would say a average price for what your looking would be sround $4500 with all of the mods, i have seen alot of nice 04 stockers going for $3500 . Trade in would probably be around $3200 regaurdless of mods

Wow, thought they would definitely bring more money than that. Thank you for the honest report and input.

What's the stock compression? 9.9 to 1

Any frame issues from jumping? Some if you jump a lot. The crossbar between the footpegs. Plus the footpeg welds.

Difficult to make jetting changes? Nope!

How's the suspension handle whoops and jumping? The stock suspension sucks.

I've got one and love it despite it's quirks and weight.

bought my 04 orange one for $3200 from local dealer, they had it sitting on showroom floor for five months! It was used very little and in mint condition.
