Default PRAIRIE 360 SPITS N SPUTTERS LOW RPM

Text

I have an 03 prairie 360 and it did the same thing about a year ago. I took it too my kawi dealership for a full tune up. Im not sure what all they did to it but its never happened to me since then. I thought that there was just water in the carb from the gasoline frezzing one time in the winter, but you said that you cleaned the carb so I dont know what to tell you. Good luck.

GOTTAGOATV,
I didn't see anywhere (I may have missed it) that you adjusted the idle screw. Did you? If it's out of adjustment, it will pop and crack just above idle, but after you open it up, that adjustment should make no difference. Does it pop and crack letting off the throttle going downhill? If it does, adjust the screw to 2 turns out. I think the book says to adjust it to 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 turns, but mine does best with a full 2 turns. The screw is hard to get to. They make a special tool to adjust it, but, I made a tool to adjust mine out of an old flexible cable adjuster tool that I had laying around. Had to grind it down to fit up in the hole where the screw is.

weve tried different idle settings, with no changes.
i think the screw youre talking about is the mixture screw on the bottom of the carb, and weve tried all kinds of different settings: screwing it way in or out changes the lean/rich running condition thru the whole rpm range, and it's only running rich at low rpms.
this thing is really making us nuts!!!

GOTTAGOATV,
Man, your problem must not be an ordinary one. I'm out of suggestions. If you ever find the problem please post back here. Good luck.

welp, we got her running. we took the carb off, took it all apart, and laid it out on the bench. then went to kawi website, and printed out the parts diagram of the carb. turns out there was a part missing! Ordered part, installed, now runs champ! Ive got the part number of the jet nozzle at the shop, will find the receipt and post it. Whew!

My old mojave did the same thing. It worked, then randomly didnt work. Never really found out what the problem was, but my suggestion would be the choke.

I had the very same symptoms. There was a fuse located right beside my battery, that was moving inside the fuse holder. It acted like a serious carbuerator problem. Back fire and the whole bit. It may not be your problem but it's worth checking.

My good friend has a Prairie 360 and has been having trouble with cold starting. I need to know what the specs are for the valves. My Brute Force 650 had same issue. All it took was to adjust the valves and it is better than ever now! Any one happen to know what the specs are on the 360? Thanks!!

Default 2000 prairie issue

I have a 2000 prairie 300 4x4 , ideals good except when I go to use the throttle it has a hesitation , if I turn the lights on it runs alitlle better with the lights off not so good. Found some frayed wirers by the battery replaced those but still the same. Also can only start it with the pull start when I use the key I get nothing but a click under the seat. Got a wife and 3 kids don't really want to bring it to a repair shop if I don't have to . Any ideas ?
