What is your advice to a new KFX400 owner getting the feel for the wheelie? Of course, ripping out a 30mph wheelie on pavement is risky business. . .but what about messing around in 1st gear doing a slow, balanced, controlled wheelie? Any stories of injury? words of warning? or go for it and have fun?

Well first Id suggest staying off the pavement lol

Id think 2nd gear wheelies are the best to learn with. You can get it up and have enough power and speed to go awhile with out shifting, so you can learn where your balance point is. 1st gear your going to be wound out quik and not really have time to get a good feel for anything.

With proper control, you can ride a wheelie in first gear as long as you want with no need to shift. You don't wind it right out.

put it in first and throw it back on the grab bar a few times. kinda scary at first but its honestly a great way to find the balance point.

i can keep my mojave in a wheelie in first as long as i want, i can drag the grab bar for 20-25 feet

here is a pic

once you get a feel for the balance point it wont be a problem

That question leads me to believe you have never been to the races......

True, the nearest events to me are about a 2 hour drive and I never know when they are. . .but would LOVE to see some races. I live in Shreveport, LA. Anyone know of any action in my neck of da woods?
