Default Another stupid question...

Hello:

I took the baffle out of the muffler on my bayou. I did this to clean out the build up like it says to in the manual. Anyway, I LOVE the way it sounds now. can I leave the baffle out without having to re-jet my carb??? I rode it with the baffle out, about a mile, and it seems to have a little more bottom end power too. it ran great. I also let it idle for awhile (about 20 mins) in my shop and it did not get hot (no glowing red pipe or anything). Is it okay to leave it out??? I know this may be a dumb queston but I want to make sure it wont hurt my engine.

Thanks
Jack

Default Another stupid question...

Hello:

Thanx. The bayou has a much larger engine though... I still wonder if it'll be ok?

Thanks
Jack

It could make it run a little lean but most quads are a little on the rich side stock. So leaning it out a little may not hurt. Just do a plug check and if it is ok, you will be fine.

I love how exhaust's sound without the baffle... it gives it a deeper tone. feels good to drive it too. but yeah, just like bberck said, just check the spark plugs, make sure they are not burnt and crumbling, or anything like that. and if your exhaust turns red..... stop riding. it should be fine. especially if it idles for 20 mins. that is good. later man,

Zach

the baffle isent to restrictive but it is a little, you aren't letting out much more air and as someone already said most quads (not hondas) are on the rich side form the factory. just do frequent plug checks.
