i have a 2001 mojave... and i have been thinking of getting a k&n powerkit and a new pipe either whitebrothers e seriese or a supertrap ids2..

and i have been recently told that they realy whond do anything for performance increase( only about a 1hp increase is what i was told.. i would like to know how true this is..

and weather or not a mod like this would be noticeable

the reason i ask

i mainly use the bike for trail and fun riding..
and ocationaly some dune riding...

would i be better off with a set of 2" smaller paddle or chevron tires on a deffrent set of rims or the performance mods

Ramimac, I went with the DG pipe and silencer kit for my mojave. I bought it because I liked the sound increase, but it enhanced the low and mid range power alot. The $160 price is also hard to beat! By the way, be sure to check the 2 nuts secureing the headpipe to the cyl, one of mine was loose when I got it new and it backed off the threads and disappeared. If you get new tires for your quad be sure to take in consideration the clearance between the silencer and the tire when it rises through the suspension travel. I dont know how wide sand tires are but if you go wider than the stock width of 10" it'll probly rub the silencer unless you get wheel spacers or ex.axle. If you power wash your quad alot, dont aim the wand real close to the radiator because you can bend the fins very easily, and try to avoid spraying the fan motor directly, the first mojave I bought was used and I think that owner power washed that area a little too hard because the fan motor was rusted solid. Those fan motor assemblies are extremely expensive, around the ballpark of $500 according to Kawie dealer. I managed to make a replacement fan from a motor that I got out of a liquid cooled honda scooter at a salvage yard. The fan motors were almost identical, needless to say it worked and didn't cost a dime! Take care, Bryan
