KFX 450 - New spy photos!
#11
#1, I'm liking what I am seeing, I could see myself purchasing green one day.
#2, While that is the new 450, those are in no way "spy photos" but setup shots by Kawi to draw interest. C'mon, people get paid good money to get spy shots of new cars, I don't think the pay is the same with quads, and no one has this kind of luck, plus they have that little branch in front of the shot to make it look like they are hiding. Also, that area looks alot like what is around their HQ in Orange County...if they wanted to hide it, they would not put it in that public of an area and let it sit out in the open.

quoted from ATV magazine
From what little information we have so far, we’d hazard a guess that this machine is geared toward the cross-country racer, aggressive trail rider or sand duner looking for a high-speed thrill
Thats what I want to hear!

Of course it may be too soon to draw conclusions, but it sounds to me like Kawi made a quad that combines all of the best features of the 450R, YFZ, LT-R, and Raptor 700. Based on the fact that the new Kawi will have EFI, reverse, electric start, and an aluminum frame, it sounds like Kawi has been listening to what ATV riders have been begging for. I know they say you shouldn't buy an ATV in its first production year, but the new KFX450 sounds like it will be too good to wait for a second year.

I was just on a Kawi site that had "zoomed-in" photos like the ones Counterpunch posted. You can see that the rims on the new Kawi 450 have reinforcement rings like the ones on the ITP Bajas. You can also tell that the brake rotors are drilled and waived like the ones Gafler sells. If Kawi put this much detail into the rest of the bike, I'll be looking for a green set of riding gear real soon.

I am waiting for a spin on this thing as soon as it arrives. Looks like a very possible choice for my quad next season.
Oh, and as for the KFX400 questions. Kawie and Suzuki ended their alliance last October. The 2007 model year will be the last year they share models. However, very few will be introduced for 2007,...so they are ahead of the game already. Ofcourse, I guess if you had to have a KFX it would as simple as buying a Z and ordering green plastic and decals from your Kawie dealer. : )
