Do you guys think some high temp tape would keep my leg a little cooler on my brute force? It's great in cold rides but when we do the hells kitchen ride I might as well rub my leg above my boots with BBQ sauce.

Heh, Yeah exhaust tape and a heat shield should keep it cooler.

It would help some, but really heat is just the nature of the beast when it comes to a kawasaki v-twin. Im sure it would cool it off a little though.

Would an oil cooler help the engine run cooler to the point there would be less heat comming off the engine?
A about a month ago we did Gorman and as we called it "Our hells kitchen ride" Brudder it was hot but as always had a great time and darn near had Hungry Valley to ourselves. Before the trip I flushed my radiator and put in Engine Ice. That helped as far as the slow low range 4x4 stuff that I love more than AIR! and riding with some of our newbee kids and other friends.
Before the Engine Ice in that kind of heat the BF's temp icon kept flashing on and off but went away when I passed the kids and scooted ahead and circled back and got some air in it's face.

i think the oil cooler will help. KOD put a oil cooler on and he did heat temp tests with a infrared temp guage and pointed it at the motor. before the oil cooler it was 189 F degrees. after the oil cooler install and the same amount of riding the temp was 162 F degrees. and that was in the general area of where your leg is. i've found engine ice helps quite a bit as you stated kvfcal.

If I wear shorts when I ride on my bayou even the heat crawls up my legs and I occasoinally stop and rub my leg, sometimes ill even let it rest on the front rack! LOL But if im wearing pants it feels ok.
