I've got a 02 650 Praire with about 3500 miles. We ride in all seasons in Northeastern Pa and push the bikes hard. thinking its time for something new, I've been kicking tires and find the new can am (650 or 800) to look pretty good compared to the 750 Brute.
Knowing you guys will have experienced opinions on the two bikes, I asking for help if figuring out the differences. One for sure is cost.......but that's not the overridding factor.
So, guys and gals, what say you??

I've also heard the rumors of an 800 efi brute to compete with the outi 800. And I hear rumors of a 1000cc efi outi to whoop everything. I know some states say anything over 800cc is not an atv. But some states also say the yamaha rino is not an atv and that's been yamahas best seller. Truth be known who really knows?? Just my opinion but as they sit and are avaliable right now the outlander is the better all around performer. Both have strong and weak points but I think the outi edges out the brute overall.

A friend of mine bought a 800 outlander about 5 months ago, yes it has tons of power and rides better than my p650. The jury is still out for me because of the issues he is having, the 1st month a failed water pump a couple months later its over heating and the sensor to run the radiator failed. Its latest was leaking prestone and the engine had to be torn down and a seal replaced. We went out on Friday night found some serious mud and he was over heating again. Awesome power but i am not convinced i will let my buddy deal with the issues first. This is only one case and my friend is hard on his bike, oh and his belt is wet a lot as well and he is after me to snorkel it for him.
This only his experince and i am sure there is a lot of people that have had no issues

I have seen new 05 P700 for $5,500. I am not as well versed on the BF's. I looked for a long time at all makes and had it down to Kaw vs Can-Am. The Can-Am 800 is several thousand dollars more. Kaw dealers will deal Can-Am dealers will not. I tried several Can-am dealers and got a couple to come down 300-400 dollars. The Cam-Am is very fast and pulls hard. I just could not see almost double the money for a little more performance. Plus the Kaw's are pretty bullet proof. Good Luck

Actually xrx, your buddy isn't the only one having probs with the 800 bomb. My brother just bought one and it doesn't like water at all. The shocks are also sqeaking madly. If you go to myoutlander.com you'll see alot of probs with them actually. I'm not antibomb, but these are comments from actual owners. Yes, I've had my brand new 07 Brute in the shop too. That was because of Kawi doing a great job on not putting the seal on right on my air box and causing major problems.
