Default KFX400 VS KFX700

You guys in here with a KFX 700 V-Force, you seem to be honest and no overexagerate- How fast do they go? Also, would they beat a TRX 450R?

I would say with all the mods I have, right around 73-75ish. I dont know if I would beat a 450r. Ive never ridden one and dont know much about them. I can hang with a buddy of mines modded yfz, but it does beat me. They are a fun bike, but are simply not the fastest quad out there, I will be the first one to admit it. I just like it for the differences it has from every other sport quad. Ive got some videos of me racing some other quads if you would like to see them.

I thought the the 700 and 400 would be pretty close. Now i have some honest info and I appreciate no one bashing on me for the question I had. i can't wait till after christmas because Im gonna do a big bore kit, cams, port the head, 400ex intake boot and 41mm fcr carb...then it ought to run its tail off! currentlt i have been trying to make the bike lighter and cut down on friction anywhere i can. its the little things that make the difference. I put my 13t front sproket on today and its alot more responsive. I'm anxious to race a stock 450r because my buddy has a 400ex that has alot of stuff done to it and he was beating me about 4-5 bikes and he said he beats a stock 450r about the same as me. Now i did a rev box, 13t sproket and removed some weight, and replaced the front wheel bearings as one was falling apart. I also fixed the rear brake that was dragging against the rotor. Its faster now with the silencer in than it was before with it out. And the silencer is very restrictive....can't wait till tomorrow when i try it out and also leaning the carb out a bit.

The Hon 450R will definately beat a stock 700; I have a 04 KFX700 now an 800 w/ 11.5 comp pistons, Crower cam, port & polish, weber 44mil down drafts from Four Strohe Tech, HMF Duals, Works front shocks, full Dalton clutch parts. Of course it's a beast but isn't it ridiculus what I had to do (spend) to finally get the upper hand ? But the KFX700 is the easyest sport quad for anyone to ride. It's the greatest point and shoot bike made for almost anykind of riding. My friends call my bike the altimate tow truck because I never break and with all the torque and no clutch to fry I always get the pleasure of towing those who broke back in. Have fun and ride safe !

I think you'll give a stock 700 a run for it's money with the mods you mentioned; but if the 700 has enough room I believe it will eventually overtake the 400. But I will tell you this, if your running (racing) hills like sand dunes (competition hill) the lighter weight of the 400 will win out. Pure gravity has a huge effect on the heavy 700. Have fun ride safe !

Well i got to race a completely stock kfx400 just to see if my mods made a difference and they did. we were running 75-100 yards (short distance) and being i just got the bike i didn't do to well the first couple of runs because i could not keep the front down. he would get out 3 bikes on me and i'd run him back down. once I got my launch right he was toast. I was however very impressed by a 4wd bike that was stayin beside me. It was 750cc but i didnt catch what it was, but it was quick.

Default KFX400 VS KFX700

i have a DVX400 (same machine as the KFX400) with a yosh carbonfiber system, proflo kit, no lid, jetted, 13T front sprocket, and a race advance CDI box. my brother has a bone stock KFX700, both bikes are 04's and bought only a month apart with almost the same hours and we both weight about 215lbs.
i've drag raced sport bikes and quads for years so i'm pretty hard to get out on, my bro is no slouch either riding the back tires hard in a drag race with traction.
on a good surface like a normal mowed yard i can flat get the 700 (2-3 bikes in a hunred yards). BUT i feel it's only because i can leave in second twisting mine to the limiter while fanning the clutch and he can't.
if we are in say dusty loose dirt, it's a strait up drag race and i have to be on the ball to get a win on him.
in the sand (waynoka), same paddles and front runners on both bikes there is NOTHING i can do. i've never won a race with him in the sand, the torque that machine has getting up and moving i just can't match, i don't think he's had LESS than a bike and a half on me.

so i guess with two very good riders it comes down to exploting your machines power and weight buy picking the surface to in which your machine runs the best on.

I bet I could take him on your bike...lol. I weigh 165 lbs. Anyway, you have pretty much the same setup as me. This weekend I'm building a larger diameter stainless header pipe with easier/less bends than the factory one. I'm really thinking about ordering my cams this week and the drz base gasket. I got a buddy that has a 450r thats talkin trash and I gotta do whatever it takes to shut him up. All he has is a couple bolt ons.

KFX700 beast, I'm not sure were you ride but in the area of sand , what you talk about isn't going to fly. The KFX needs some seriours mods to make it lite up the feild. Simple hot cams, duel HMF and clutch won't get it done Calif....... I don't care if you weigh 60#s, the beast needs more CC's w/ compression then throw fuel into it like there's no tommorrow (check out Micky Dunlop FST and there 44MM duel down draft carb); Watch it lite up..........

My simple opinion, Have fun and ride safe...
