I was assuming it was factory jetting, since it is an 06, and he stated he wanted to wait until warranty was up to rejet

I guess it would probably help us all if we new the jetting that was in it. Stock from the factory or other wise.

Well.... Today i called a few Kawasaki Service Departments, and I got conflicting answers. Some said yes, some said no. I'll play it safe and just keep the stock filter

If you want a K&N buy it and put it on. You have to be very lean to hurt these 4 strokes. If by some weird chance you are that lean you'll notice warning signs before you actually hurt the motor. If you bike is running hot, rejet. If your bike is running poorly, rejet. If your bike is back firing on decelaration, rejet. If you were running an old 2 stroke motor I'd tell you to absolutely be safe and rejet. But like I said on these 4 strokes you've got to be very lean to actually hurt the motor, It can be done, you can melt them down, but from only a filter change it is EXTREMELY unlikley.

Adding a K&N filter will not void the warranty. My dealer added the ignition kit and jet kits and my extended warranty is still in affect. I have had my dealer do all the aftermarked additions b/c that way I have the extended warranty intact.
