Been thinkin' about a 4x4, looking at a 2001 Prairie 400. I'm aware that it's Full Time 4WD, which is fine and good, question is- what's the differential up front, is it a olid front or a limited type of something? Leaning also toward a 2003- 360 because of it more sophisticated belt drive and spring interchangeability as well as the trigger loc type front differential............

I think you are asking if its a limited slip which is what they are i balieve(prairie 400s). For the most part, all of the prairies are bullet proof. Just use the right gear range when needed and yoll have no probs out of the belts or anything.

 

BTW... you can still change out the clutch springs on the 300 & 400's with Polaris springs... I like the Polaris yellow in our 300 Prairie...

 

I've spent considerable time on the 360 and owned the 400. The 400 is the way better of the two, by far. Even the Prairie 300 is faster than the 360.

 

Thanks Nova and beatle. So there's hope for the older Prairies for springs, cool. I always did wonder about the Praire 300 vs the 360. But I'm irked then by the differential............
