Default Mojave or Lakota specs?

Can anyone give me a link to an article or something with the specifications for the Lakota or Mojave? I'm moving to Michigan soon, after I get there I want to get a used quad. I like the liquid cooling and 4 valve head, if it is light weight and handles well it is definately something I would buy if I could find one. For you owners out there how do u like yours?

One of the most important differences between the two quads is that Mojave does NOT have the Electric-start, Kick-Start only which many owners disliked the most. Other than that, the liquid cooled 250 has some advantages as a nimble sport quad compared to the air-cooled 300.
> 80 lbs lighter
> Tighter chassis
> Tighter turning radius
> Twin-cam
> Higher compression head, 11.0 vs 8.6
> Same max torque, 16.6 ft-lbs
> Same fuel tank capaciy, 2.2 Gal.
> True manual 5-spd plus reverse (semi on 300).

It all depends what kind of riding you do. As for me, I would pick a 300 just because I am more of leisure type riding guy needing more space (higher seat) and need a rack in the back to carry my junks (later 300 doesn't have it thourgh). If you ever think about racing in the track, get a 250/Mojave.

I had a Mojave back in 1987/1988 and rode it like I stole it never had any problems with it unfortunately, I sold it. Fast forward into 1998/1999 my family and I got back into riding again. First quad I bought again was a 1987 Mojave outside of a tune up and checking the valves, no problems Now it's my oldest daughter's quad and it's still running strong. Can't say anything about the Lakota other than it's similar to the Mojave.

i agree i also have a mojave 98 with a wisco piston and rings ported and polished with a jet kit k&N air filter and a white brothers exhaust system and for a 250 it sure is pist off im soon going to get web cams and rev box and see how many 400 ex quads can get away not to many the way it is . my brother has a 06 400 ex and i can walk all over his until i run out of gears then he walks away slowly i also geared it down one toothe on the front sprocket but for what it is it gets there in a flash and controls excellent couldnt ask for anything better
