Kawasaki 650i 4x4 Vs. Polaris 500 EFI
#1
Well.. it all comes down to this. I cant wait to get my new quad and its hard to decide. I need some rider opinions for this one. I really like the Polaris AWD system, but Kawasakis oil bathed brake and front and rear brakes are nice.

Are you serious, you really cant decide between a BF 650I & a Pooolaris 500 EFI? well I guess I shouldn't put it so harshly, I ride with people that all have the 500 polaris, I'm not impressed at all, in my opinion the 500 polaris is not even

Well I have had both the polaris 700 and the Brute Force 750i and there is now comparison I love the brute way more power and it is lighter weight than the polaris. I like the differential lock on the brute force it makes for easier turning with big tires but when you need all four just pull the lever in or do like I did and go to highlifter and order the PENlock which will lock it in so you dont even have to hold it. The down side to the brute is the short distance it takes for the 4x4 to kick in but if I have any doubt in my mind before I hit a mud hole I engage it ahead of time. There would definitly be no comparison between the 650 and the 500 as far as power and torque goes the only good thing I can say about the polaris is the EFI but unless you plan on changing altitude alot you really dont need EFI just makes the ATV more expensive. I think you should definitly go with the brute 650i you will be glad you did.

Well.. I have owned Polaris all my life. I have saw many kawis out there and a few things I dont like about them are:
1) They seem tipsier than a Polaris
2) I heard the button you click to turn on 4x4 wont work unless your going under 8/mph, and wont work above 8? (Just what I have heard)
Polaris I like:
1) I think the AWD system is excellent, it will work any speed)
2) Feels a lot more stable to me (We measured a Polaris 500 and a Kawi 360 and the 500 is a few inches wider.
And what about a Kawi 360 4x4? What are those like? I dont like how kawasaki has their cc range from 360 to 650, when some of us might want something with power in between those. Im afraid I will kill myself on a 650 to be honest!

The Polaris is 150-175lbs heavier depending on which model you get.
The Polaris is not as powerful.
Has less fuel capacity(probably burns less anyway).
It doesn't sound as cool.
The plastic melts when you ride it which I think is a dumb thing that should have been caught during testing.
I have yet to hear of someone not satisfied with their Kawasaki.
Didn't have as great of reviews as the 650i on www.powersportsnetwork.com.
All these are reasons I went with the Kawi.

But as frustrated as I am with our Kawi, I've got nothing but contempt for our 2 polaris atvs.
