Default KFX700 MODS TO THE HILT

Alright you guys; I'm tired of the "my air filter doesn't suck wind, line". If you've got a Kawi V-twin, and I don't care if it's a frickin 650 Praire or 750 Brute...Many of us have experiences building our bikes with different results. And I've seen some awsome machines ...... Cut the cra_ .. I want to know as others, where did you go with CC's , what compression (and MFG), springs, valves, clutch (which color and why ?). Fuel and air; extended swing-arm (west coast sand chunkies).... BRING IT .... There's some serious V-TWIN Torque out there; is one of them your's ?

I thought about doing the bore kit and all that before I got rid of my KFX. I think you just got an opinion from a KFX-700 expert. Metal knows those quads inside and out.

Ray Fundy currently has mine. It's in the process of getting the 730 kit with 11.5:1 pistons, race cams w/ springs and seats, porting, matched and set up clutch kit for 300' sand drags, and 38mm carbs from a 99 cbr 900 is they'll fit if not the 36s with ms mod. I hope it lives up to my expectation. I'm wanting a mid to low 5 second sand drag bike.

you should be able to get into the 4s no troubles if you use a wheelie bar or something.

Metal your cheaten; anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing that beautiful slightly modified blower machine of yours is just dreaming of the possibilities......WE KNOW WE can't touch your stuff (by the way did you get the extended swing arm, you have to have ?) Remember safety first; and having the ability to flip your bike at 1/4 throttle might give you a slight pucker factor.......But for us simplyer (that's not a word) folk......What's more important CC's, compression, good cams, big air and fuel, clutch...Or what combination...Now Metal I've seen your friends bikes too. And there also sick, so between you and your buddies, there's a little know how....

O.K. all bull aside, good to hear from you again. Looking foreward to your next addition...Be Safe

That sounds great but remember I'm talking aobut sand drags not dirt or clay like a lot of the guys up north do. I'm pretty sure I could if I kept the nitrous but I want to run on straight pump gas. This one's gonna have to last.

fat, high 4s in the sand with a wheelie bar or extended swinger... mid 4s on dirt. If you are Still in the 5s on sand there might be something holding you back.. exhaust, CDI, small carbs or whatever.

3636, the 730cc kit is faster or as fast as any of the big bores until you start adding big valves and huge exhaust

If BOTH bikes have these.. We will say they both have the same cam, something big like a fundy or FST.

730 stock carbs, valves, decent pipe... faster than a big bore.
730 stock carbs, valves, decent pipe, porting, faster than a big bore.
730 big carbs, stock valves, decent pipe, porting, faster than a big bore.
730 big carbs, big valves, LTE exahust, porting, the big bore is faster.

You have to open everything up before the big bore is faster than a 730. For example the new 840 with big everything is about 10mph faster up the hill than a 730....

Stock 700 does around 38-40mph up banshee hill at dumont.
730 with porting big carbs and a nice big cam will do around 45-50 depending on how heavy the rider is.
840 with everything will do about 55-58 with a large frame man riding.

That's the same as my bike when I'm riding it.. I'm 280 and 6'4". With a big shot of NOS that 840 does nearly 70mph up the same hill...LOL I'm still working on mine... my goal is 74mph.
