Can someone give me a guess on how often I should change my oil in my KFX 400?

it says to change the oil after 20 hours in the manuel

 

I know its apples to oranges, but I've only changed my oil 1x and I bought it December 05

 

When the oil get dirty, change it.

Seriously, though....... the manual says something like 6mos or 20hrs or something like that. I generally go by when the oil gets dirty, since it will get dirty at about the recommended change...

 

I go about 3 days out of the week some trail riding and here and there at a track.

 

Read the manual, change it according to what it says. "dirtiness" or color of oil is NOT a good indicator of whether it is time for a change or not.

 

You can't tell when you oil is dirty by visually looking at it. Change the oil often!! It's cheap considering the investment you made in your quad. I generally change mine & filter every 10-15 hours depending upon how hard i'm riding. It only takes 10 minutes..
