Check/Change your front end oil 10-40W. Has the recall work been done on your steering knuckles?
Quads are hard to turn in 4WD. If your 4WD is not disengaging, then you have 4WD actuator and or 4WD controller problems.

What is the recall on the steering knuckles? Where do I find out about it?

Change your front diff. oil like lostokie recommended. When you do look any for very small metal fragments in the diff oil. If you have shavings or small flakes then chances are you've blown out your front diff. I've seen it a few times with others bf 650s and a few prairies. I truely hope that your diff lock is just sticking because rebuilding the differential is EXPENSIVE but from my experience a blown out diff sounds like the problem. Sorry maybe yours will be better.

kvfrider call your local dealer. i'm not sure of all the recalls some are just the steering knuckle. some are the the steering knuckle, a-arm. & ball joint. it depends on your model
fastfatboy. i dont think the diff. is blown because i can go into 2 or 4 wheel drive.

The diff lock could be stuck. Ive had the same problem on my 05 Brute the cable runs $30 easy to change. It would be the actuator because if the bike is in 4WD with it not locked it is still easy to turn thats why it must be the cable.
