Hot Prairie 300
Got a 2002 prairie 300. Went riding the other day for the first time in a while since the weather got warmer. Seemed like my leg was on fire from the exhaust side. Dont remember it being that hot on my last few rides. Do these machines normally run that hot or is there something i should check.
Thanks

If I would have bought everything new it would have been cheaper to sell it and buy a 4x4.
I got the front diff and both complete axles off of ebay for $250
The complete driveshaft I got off of ebay as well for $50
Diff fluid $10
Circlip for the tranny $1
All parts were used but in great shape. Think I got a pretty good deals.
It wasn't hard at all but it was pretty time consuming since this was the first time I actually worked on the quad.
Probably took about 6 hrs or so as far as I can remember.
It was basically just bolt in and go.

My 2002 p300 has always run hot on that side and had gotten worse when I installed a full skid plate on it. I wound up drilling lots of small holes in the skid plate to help off-set the heat factor some. I also clean the coils after every ride and about twice a year I spray a coil cleaner in it as well (rinse religiously afterwards.) That always seems to help it some. I would like to add a fan to it. My 360 has one and I don't know why Kawi never put one on the 300?

Is there a fan available for the 300? My little guy, when running in low range, will get hot enough to boil the fuel in the gas tank. I would like to find a fan for the oil cooler but have no clue where to look. I asked highlifter if they had one but only for the twin cyl.
Any help would be much appreciated.
