I always go into my local Kawi dealer, and just stair at the beast. It's a beautful quad, but it's the cost that's pushing me away. I've been waiting for ever for something bigger than my little 250, but I just can't accept the price.

so....if anyone has one...is the $7300 worth it or no?

I haven't really looked into any other 400-500cc quads so is it expensive for it's size?

Of course it comes with EFI, Reverse, and it just plain out looks bad ***.

but again, is it a contender for the price???

I own A 07' Raptor 700r, the new 08' raptor is out for the same price as the KFX, I like the kawi too, but I believe you get more bang for your buck, and I just smoked the new KFX450, not in first and second but as soon as I hit third I was gone and never saw my cousin again.

 

i too would like the anser to this question. im trying to decide between a yfz450 and a raptor. i wondering if the kfx450 could be a happy medium??

 

Yeah, if the 700r is the same price as the 450 and blows it away...that says something. I mean it's supposted to be lighter, and have better fuel delivery. I figured it would somewhat close up until about 4th gear. Guess not.

That's the whole point of me even wanting this bad boy is to keep up with my buddie's 660 rap. He's got an exaust, jet kit, and holeshots. In the tight, turning trails I'm all over him on my mojave, but as soon as we get on a firetrail I just stay back and save my gas.

Oh well, I might buy one once some parts are out for it and I win the lotery.

 

I believe all three atv's are bad a$$, its up to you which you prefer, and what you mostly ride, I ride alot of trails, and alot of fire roads. I get my quad opened up, if you are going to stay in first second and sometimes third, like racing on mx tracks and what not, the raptor isn't what you are looking for. If I was going to be strictly doing this I would've bought a YFZ hands down, although the Kawi looks sick with the colors.

 

so who do you think would win between the yfz vs. kfx?

I have the new Kawi & can tell you this out of the box the quad is set up for tight woods riding & not a drag race, the gearing is very low, w/ just a new rear sprocket the quad has a bit more top end, But w/ the mods that I have done, I have not yet meet a 700 raptor that can keep up in any gear.. & for that matter a 660, I have not raced a ltr450 yet, But have not lost to a honda 450r , my buddies yzf w/ a few mods is the only raced that I have lost since i did my mods & that was buy a quad....

I would love to ride one just to test it out, but we all know dealers would never let that happen. That's all I do is tight trail ride, and the occasional drag race on a fire trail. I just want something faster to tell you the truth.

 

Yeah his quad is brand new, but my mods are minimal, compared to his stock its not that much of a difference, he had me from first till I hit third, on a long stretch of dirt road, on a mx track I wouldve been sayin he smoked me, no arguement. And by the mods you listed you spent some serious cash to beat any raptor, if I do the same to mine do you think you stand a chance? It comes down to skill, at that point, and nothing more.
