cobra makes an aftermarket exhaust also jardine. k&n make an airfliter and dynojet has a new jet kit. to get more speed only way is to go with taller tires. i have 23s on my 220 right now and it would gps at 45mph</end quote></div>
Thanks, I'm going to seriously look into it, if I go taller what about stability, can you widen the wheel base? Also is there a way to adjust the shift range? What I mean is you have to pull the shift lever like 3-4 inches+- just to shift, is there a way of shortening this a bit?

my friend has an older 220 with a cobra exhaust and K&N filter moose jet kit...nothin really different in powerwise just kinda made it loud and drank more gas...those motors arent really built to be modded or anything like that...mods do absolutely nothin really...i have a bayou 250 now and as far as i know they only make the corba exhaust for the 220 but it should fit on the 250...i know supertrapp use to make a exhaust for the 220's too...but the only place youll probably find that is on ebay...bayou are a great beginners quad and sure can take a beatin...they have some decent power to for a little quad as is from the factory...as far as tires i wouldnt go any bigger then 23-11-10 on there...stock size is 22-10-10 i believe but i had some blackwaters on mine and they were 22-12-10 and they were 2 wide so i had to glue em and throw slime in the tires so they wouldnt leak...but look around for a supertrapp dont even waste your money on a corba...cuz all your gonna notice is that is really loud...moose makes an aftermarket shifter for bayou's i hear there pretty good i havent tired em yet but from what i hear they help wit the problem your havin...

I put 23x8x10 and 23x10x10 Dirt Devils on my son's B220 and couldn't be happier (see my pics). I was concerned that they would pull it down performance wise, but it easily pulls them and I gained a little ground clearance. I also put ITP steel wheels all around. The 8x10s on the rear (4x137mm) widen the track a fair amount which I like. I put 10x5 3+2 offsets on the front (4x110mm) and kinda wish I would have went with 2+3 offset to match the rears a little better. If you ride much in mud though the larger offset is a pain, but my 12 yr. old doesn't seem to mind. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably put Maxxis Razr II 23x7x10s on the front. Ours does wander a little at around 40 mph. Perhaps the Razrs wouldn't have helped, but they probably wouldn't hurt either.
Ours needed a rebore when we got it so I went with a Wiseco piston. I don't think that helped the performance by itself as it is a stock compression ratio piston. I did modify a stock Honda 400ex muffler though and with the KN jet kit it really helped a bunch. (again, see pics) Nice sound that isn't too loud. New takeoffs are dirt cheap on ebay. A good way to go if you have a wire feed welder and a saturday afternoon.
I'd like to find some good replacement shocks for the front, but I'm not going to spend several hundred $$$ on aftermarket shocks for this thing. I need to do some research to see if there are some good factory shocks (other brands/models) that would fit.
Good Luck!
