Default 07 750i brute force

I have been looking for my first utility quad. I like the kawasaki's. The dealership is running specials on the 07's right now and I am thinking of getting the 07 brute force 750i. I am 6 foot and 200 lbs. I have heard that these quads feel top heavy and tippy is this true? I will mainly be using it to go trail riding. mudding and occasionally be using it in snow. I am looking for something durable and reliable. One thing that bothers me is the is no back up pull start like on the 650 is this a concern I should be having. Also how does the 750 handle climbing hills, with all the power it should do great, but is it tricky trying to keep the front end on the ground, I do know it has to do with the rider and throttle. Unfortunatly the dealer doesn't allow test drives so I am looking for some good feedback.

Yes, it is true that 750i has higher CG. It's easily felt if you are from other quads. If you have to choose from Kawis, basically, you will have to choose between 650/750 IRS or 650 SRS. The BF650 SRS (straight rear axle) would be a better choice for "fast" trail riding with lots of "confident" power sliding at will. The IRS machines would feel little nervous when you try to do that. There is no Kawi 750 SRS. So, choose between the power (750 IRS) and the handling (650 SRS). If I'm in the market for a new ute quad, I would go for '08 EFI 750 IRS .

Mine has a pull start back up and its a 650 so i don't know about why yours wouldn't have one good luck and have fun on it.

I won't be doing any fast trail riding so I would get the irs. You said you would get the 08 brute force 750i? You don't think you should wait a year in case of any problems with the fuel injection that kawai hasn't found out about yet. Would there be any other brands of utility I should look at?

I know, normally, you shouldn't buy the first year model... but in my personal experience with cars and toys, I've been lucky and didn't have any major problems in my case. If it happens to be a major issue, then most reputable manufacturers would repair at no charge. The only major change to Kawi's 08 750i is the EFI and I love hi tech stuff. I know some guys who bought 08 BF750 and they said the EFI mapping is flawless - smooth power delivery without any hick ups or glitch. The EFI is much over due on this machine. Even my 20 yr old car is EFI !!! The 650 has enough power for most, but the 750 has MORE than enough and that's what I want. And I live and ride in high altitude area (6000+ ft) with frequent change of temperatures- sometimes I see 4 seasons in one week. Like it snowed last Saturday in the mountain behind my house. The carbs are too finicky for me and the jet change on carbed 750 is a total pain (all that fasterners for the plastics you have to remove). I don't ride too fast in twisty trails and I would love to do rock climbing and slow rough terrain riding so the IRS is perfect set up for me.
Other brands...
Who else makes V-twn ute quads as long as Kawis have done and as light weight as they are? There some good single cyl quads (zukis and yammies) out there but I just don't like the idea of having a single cyl ute machine whether it performs same or better. It's like this. I wouldn't buy a truck with V6. I just like the idea that I have a V8 under the hood of my truck. For 2008, ArcticCat just came out with a 1000 V-twin ute quad (but actually 950 cc) - the biggest so far. It looks like they copied Kawi's V-twin design (and CVT) after borrowing Kawi's P650 engine/CVT for a few years on their AC 650 ute. The new AC 1000 doesn't have the rear wet brake system and weighs more than 100 lbs heavier, yet offers 200 lbs less towing capacity. If you look at the big cat closely, like the meter and handlebar area, you can easily telll how unfinished it looks compared to others. I wonder how it rides though.

A friend of mine has a 05 polaris which is not fuel injected, he had problems with the change in altitudes. He ended up putting a dial a jet in his quad. All he has to do is take the seat off and adjust the dial. Does anyone know if these really truely work and if you can install them in kawasaki's?

my '07 brute 750i has a backup pull start.
I couldnt be happier with my brutus. im 5'9, 150lbs and its got an amazing amount of power. even in stock form it was great. little better now since i've done the chip, exhaust, and intake tho. I dont tipically find my machine to be top heavy..i get into some pretty good off camber situations and feel very comfortable on it.
probly my only complaint is the lack of storage on the quad. other than that...A++++++

Hayashi,
I will let you know how that big kitty rides and handles when I get it. I have aleays loved my priarie 650, and was hoping for more than just EFI this year for the Brute, especially a little more power. I have heard mid to late October for a delivery date, but if you want, I will let you know what it is capable of.
