Default 2005 brute force

I am looking to buy an atv. My neigbors brother has his 2005 kaw brute force for sale I think he said it is a 700, but i see on the website they are either 650 or 750. here is the question. Has anybody had one and had much problems with it? If so what? He wants 5k, but i don't know how many hours it has, but according to my neighbor it is "tricked"out.

Well, if i were you, i would hold off on the 05 model years. More then likly it would be fine but they had some issues. In 06 kawasaki came out with the 650i which made for some handling improvments the 750 had and they eventually changed to those inprovments in 07 for the 750. If i were you, i would look for a 650i(same power, less money, updated stuff) and or go for a 07 and up 750. thats just me

I Agree with "alwaysride", I've had both yrs, my present '07BF750 is a big Improvement over my '05. Steering, handling, all improved & needed.

I am only using the quad around the house, I have to put up a couple thousand feet of fence thru some heavy woods and hilly terrain. Occasionally som friends of mine go Trail riding a few times a year. Would the 05 BF 750 be good for this?

ya, id say if your not going to use it for strickly trail riding and riding agresivly it will be good. Remember, if you get a kawasaki, use low range when pulling, mudding, climbing, ang going consistanly slow and youll have more belt life. If you go to www.nyrocatv.com you can go to the tech tips sections and it will show you how to maintenence and check your belt system.

I agree again.
By following the low range "rule" you shouldn't have any belt problems. I put 2000 miles on my Stock '05BF750 & when I replaced the Belt for a upcoming high miles atv vacation, the Stock belt would of be fine.

Not yet, my neighbor's brother is about 4 hours away. He is going up there sometime between now and Christmas. He will bring it back and if it looks good then it'll stay if it is ragged out it will go back. I was told it only has 250 miles, his brother is a welder and has got some huge job and is working 12 hrs a day 7 days a week and is about to go on the road for some long term job. He is selling off alot of his toys. Plus I think he got in on one of those no down take forever to pay deals. I got my wife to sit on an 08 at the dealer and that just sealed the deal! Only then she sat on an 08 KQ and wanted that, but I advised her we don't have the money for the KQ(new) and we are gettin a good deal on the BF. should be a week or so I will let you all know how it goes. thanks for all the help!
