Winch Question
My bud just got a 3000lb gorilla winch for something like 60 bucks from amazon.com.... then add shipping and take off $30 for applying for the credit card and I think he got it for $40. I think it has a lifetime warranty too. If not lifetime,,, its really long anyway.
I've been beatin the **** out of superwinches for yrs. I know they last forever!

Winch Question
I dont know anything about the gorillas other than what he told me. I DO know from experience though that superwinches are tough! I use them for winching logs around and hoisting engines and cars or whatever. OSHA would have a fit if it was a commecial operation.
The winch in the pic was $95 shipped with a ****** block.

Winch Question
nice pics, just carefull when you put your machine against a tree and pull with winch, can torque the whole frame doing that...
i've got a gorilla sitting in the garage, made a rear mount for the popo when i had it, worked ok, but wouldn't want to rely on it, but they do okay for basic winching and basically a throw away winch since they are cheap, along with several others on the market

Winch Question
Hmmm.... ok... I'll relay the message about the gorilla.
I had a chain wrapped around the tree with the other end of the cable hooked to it, so the tree was doing most of the pulling.
....and the other pic all the pulleys were hooked to the plow, so, most likely, the plow would have come off if the worst were to happen. What you cant really see in that pic is the cable attached to the trailer ball and to another tree out-of-frame. So, the whole quad is being stretched. Btw, I almost uprooted the other tree! That was a HARD pull! At least 8000lbs of force there.
