HELP! 400 Prairie missing at high RPM.
#1
I have a 400 Prairie 4x4 that will not run at higher RPM's. Sometimes it will run OK for just a few minutes when you first start it in the morning. Idles fine but will not even get to 1/4 throttle before it starts missing and missing badly. Sounds like it will not take gas but I replaced the carb and it does the same thing. Pickup coil tested OK with ohm meter. Switched CDI box and the same thing. This is driving me nuts!!! Any suggestions?

Hmm- sounds similar to what I experienced when I tried to cover up the intake on my uncorked Mojave. Would start and run OK- but wouldn't wind out, opened it back up and was OK. Have ya checked the air filter. Also check the battery, these P400's are known to act this way with a questionable battery..........

Checked all that you mentioned. Also tried a new main coil and still the same thing. This a stock unit. No mods ever done to it.
