Default I know this is an ATV forum but one quick question

I want to buy my friends KDX 220 2-stroke dirt bike but I want to take it for long rides. I've heard that it is not good to take a 2-stroke on long rides is this true? Can it be ran hard for say 10-20 minutes without seriously damaging the engine?

I doubt very seriously that's true. My friend takes his Honda CR250 on long trail rides. We go for more than 3 hours at a time. I know he'll run his bike for 30-45 min before taking a break. We always take an xtra 2 gallons of gas when we go cause he burns gas like wild fire hitting every hill wide open. His bike is an 02 model. I dont know about the older bikes though

Yhea its no problem to ride a 2stroke for a long ride. What is not good for it is to be held wide open for a really long time.

A KDX is a "Pure Enduro" race bike, The point of the bike is long punishing races.
