you sound like a genius when u just said all of that. you had me for a second, then lost me with the switch's thing, but i think i understand. its just the battery not having enough juice to start the damn thing. and it having enough for lights to work? i dunno

I'm too tired to think of a way to make it easier to understand, but there's a coil of wire inside the solenoid that needs juice to hold the switch closed to run the starter. THe starter drains the battery and that coil looses power to hold the switch closed.

When you press the starter button, the juice to run the starter doesnt go thru the switch you're pressing. You're just telling the soleniod to close and run the starter for you. When you press the starter button, you make a coil of wire turn into a magnet because there is battery power in the coil now. But the magnet makes a piece of metal move and makes the starter go and that kills the battery and the magnet stops working until the battery charges back again. And that keeps happening over n over until you let go of the switch. That's the clicking sound. Take the solenoid off and connect the little wires to the battery and you can feel it move inside. When it moves it makes power go thru the big wires.

Speaking of power, my brain is running out of it for tonight.

Pretty sure they make steel rims for $20, but you'll have to buy 2 so they will match. Try ebay. Get the brakes from ebay too, much cheaper.

whoa hold up. steel rims for $20?? where is this at. i didnt find anything good on ebay, but of course im just lookin for one OEM front rim. but if there's like a diff look to these $20 rims, i might just get 4 new ones. i was just gonna get the one replacement and then maybe paint all 4. but yah....the brakes and battery im getting from dennis kirk. new battery is like 38 bucks, and pads are like 26. but as far as the rims go, if i bought 2 front rims diff from the rear, that wont look right. will it? also, my parking brake doesnt work at all, i actually bought the bike like that.(from a dealership) in ur book, does it say why it wouldnt work, or how to fix it? that would be real cool if i could fix it, i never got to use it, lol

Yeah, I got a set for my bayou last summer for about $20 or so new from rockymountainatv. They just plain jane steel rims. The brakes should be about $10 on ebay.

I dont know much about the parking brake. Mine dont have it. The cable is just dangling. The fact that you need brakes may have something to do with yours not working.
