Default 2008 750 front diff oil plug Help!

I was attempting to do my first oil change for my new Brute. My front diff oil plug that is a hex screw will not come off. I do not want to strip it, but I know it has more play now. If I take it in will it be covered by warranty? If not do I still take it in? I'm using 5mm if I recall to take it off. Is there a special wrench I need to buy? Any help on this topic would be great.

I did get the rear off, but it was on tight.

I went out and bought a 5mm wrench socket & mine came out but I had to use a breaker bar. After that, it is a breeze to remove.

Default 2008 750 front diff oil plug Help!

The thing is I did us a socket and it felt like it was going to strip so I stopped before it did. Maybe the 5mm that I used is not a great one to use even though it was new. Maybe I will try a different style of 5mm and tap it good with a hammer. I will not be able to try this until next weekend, because the brute lives at the land up north.

The last thing I want to have to do is drill it out if I strip it. Would spraying it with anything help?

Thanks for the help guys!

I was told that If the dealer didn't do the first 10 hour service the warranty was void. that includes all fluids being changed.

If the dealer requires such a thing legally they have to do it for free. Just keep your receipts and documentation if you do your own services. I have never had any of my service records challenged by Ford or Honda.

I stripped mine and had to use vise grips to get the plug out. The vise grips worked like a champ...

all those are a pain, best thing to do is to tap it slightly with a hammer to break it loose if possible, then if you have the socket heat hex wrench would be best way to apply pressure not to strip out the threads, i just put a pipe on my hex wrench and it broke free, but would rather have a different head on them...

I just used a hex key and tapped it with a hammer. Got the plug off with hex key and very little effort. Put the plug back in with, hopefully, same torque. Have done three changes and have had no problems. I have read somewhere that you can buy a bolt with 10 mm head to replace the stock plug. Anybody know what size?
